Certified Sharia Adviser and Auditor (CSAA)

The Certified Sharia Adviser and Auditor (CSAA) program is designed to equip candidates with the requisite technical understanding and professional skills on Shari’a compliance and review processes for the international Islamic banking and finance industry.
 
 
 
 
 
Certification Summary
Examination Papers & Topics
Candidates of CSAA are required to sit for only one examination paper covering the following main topics:
  •  AAOIFI’s Shari'a standards on Islamic finance products and practices, and Shari’a basis for those standards.
  •  AAOIFI’s Governance standards on Shari’a compliance and review processes.
  •  Islamic banking and finance supervision (including regulatory and external supervision, internal review, and application of AAOIFI’s standards).
  •  Operational structures for Shari’a compliance and review.
  •  Shari'a compliance and review procedures (including on planning, operations, documentation, and reporting).
  • Application of Shari’a and Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) to Islamic banking and finance practices.
Examination Style
The CSAA examination is consisting of the following questions styles to be solved in 2 hours:
  • Multiple Choice
  • True or False
  • Essay Question
 
Examination & Results Dates
Examinations are taken place twice a year, in June & December, and results are published after two months from the examination date.
